My Ovation Guitar

Serial #11133

My Ovation guitar is one of my favorite possessions. I began playing guitar at the age of fourteen, after my parents gave me a Goya acoustic for Christmas. For the last few years I have mainly played electric guitar, but about a year ago a friend allowed me to play his Ovation, and I loved it. I enjoy its bright sound and I find its rounded-back design extremely comfortable. And because it has a cutaway enabling easy access to the higher frets, it is possible to play many of the chords and notes that are difficult to reach on a normal acoustic guitar. But most of all I appreciate its ability to combine the warm tones of the acoustic guitar with the volume and control of the electric. And although I began playing the guitar because of the desire to play like Slash of Guns N' Roses, my musical interests have broadened to include other kinds of rock music, folk, and the blues, all of which the Ovation can be suited for. While I enjoy playing the electric guitar most, my Ovation is still my first choice when I want more of an acoustic sound.
